Wendy Baker, Director, Baker Fencing


Wendy Baker has been a Director of Baker Fencing since its incorporation in 1982. The company directly employs approximately 20 staff and annually sub-contacts, on a labour only basis, approximately 5 two or three man gangs. Baker Fencing’s turnover for the year ending 31 October 2002 was £1.5 million.

In addition, Wendy is Chief Executive Officer of the Fencing Contractors Association (FCA). The FCA has 180 member companies, who are involved in the Fencing Industry as fencing contractors, fencing products manufacturers or suppliers. Although FCA’s fencing contractor membership consists mainly of SMEs and micro-businesses, its manufacturing and supplier members are large multi-million pound turnover organisations offering the industries specialised products.

Wendy acts as General Secretary to specialist member organisations, including; the Association of Safety Fencing Contractors, the Electric Security Fencing Federation, the Federation of Scottish Fencing Contractors and the Environmental Barrier Association. She also Chairs the Highways Agency’s Sector Scheme 2a Committee, and is a member of the Sector Scheme Liaison Committee.
